Start-up Studio

Be part of a place where you can make things happen.

About the Programme:

Get ship done – entrepreneurship, that is!

Start-up Studio is the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s on-campus co-working space and community for early-stage founders.
It’s where ideas take shape, connections spark, and ventures come to life. If you’re ready to develop your start-up alongside a supportive community, this is the place to be.

Open to students and staff from all faculties at the University of Auckland. If you’ve got a vision and the drive to make it happen, we’re here for you.

Your Opportunity:

  • Free co-working space: Work in CIE’s vibrant Kura Matahuna – Unleash Space innovation hub.
  • Join a community: Connect with other early-stage founders who’ll cheer you on and inspire your journey.
All Start-up Studio members sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement when joining, so this is your safe space to talk about your entrepreneurial ideas.
  • Get support: CIE staff are here to offer advice, guidance, and a friendly nudge when you need it.
Take part in monthly get-togethers for networking and professional development.
  • Cross-campus collaboration: Meet and collaborate with students and staff from different disciplines and faculties.
  • Resources and mentors: Access educational tools, mentors, valuable networks, and CIE’s makerspaces.
  • Perks: Enjoy free Wi-Fi, dedicated locker space, and a place to call your entrepreneurial home.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Hands-On Experience: Learn the ins and outs of developing a start-up by doing the real thing.
