Vacuum former

The Maker Space has a Formech compac mini desktop vacuum former that enables you to make a variety of simple moulds.

What is a vacuum former?

A vacuum former is a machine for creating simple moulds. It uses heat to stretch a sheet of plastic over an object, then uses a vacuum to form the sheet around the item.

Ready to get started?

To use vacuum former for your own project, you’ll first need to gain access to the Create and Maker Space by signing up.Once you’ve done that, you’re all set to use the vacuum former during scheduled studio time – no training required.

To help you create whatever you imagine, download our quick reference user guide; and for hands-on guidance, you can attend one of our regular workshops. We also have trained creative technologists onsite to lend a hand.
