

EV Maritime brings electric ferries to Auckland
Auckland Council recently announced that they have invested $27 million in two electric ferries, set to launch in 2024. The ferries will be designed and produced by EV Maritime, led by University of Auckland alumnus Michael Eaglen, co-founder and CEO.
Bold shapes and bright colours at staff jewellery making workshops
University of Auckland staff and students had the opportunity to unleash their creative potential at a series of jewellery making workshops run by CIE. The free workshop had participants making a bespoke pair of earrings, key chain, or brooch with the support of student Creative Technologists.

University of Auckland launches Doctoral Entrepreneurial Leadership Programme
The University of Auckland has launched its inaugural Doctoral Entrepreneurial Leadership Programme run by CIE. The free, year-long programme is designed to equip doctoral candidates from all disciplines with an entrepreneurial mindset and skills by teaching them tools and frameworks to develop ideas, opportunities, and solutions.

The infamous hills that surround the University of Auckland’s City Campus have inspired one student to take matters into his own hands. Third-year Bachelor of Commerce student Petr Bublienko has used the free tools and equipment available at Unleash Space, the University’s innovation hub and maker space, to make his own electric skateboard.
