Auckland Council recently announced that they have invested $27 million in two electric ferries, set to launch in 2024. The ferries will be designed and produced by EV Maritime, led by University of Auckland alumnus Michael Eaglen, co-founder and CEO.

University of Auckland staff and students had the opportunity to unleash their creative potential at a series of jewellery making workshops run by CIE. The free workshop had participants making a bespoke pair of earrings, key chain, or brooch with the support of student Creative Technologists.

Third-year Bachelor of Commerce student Petr Bublienko has used the free tools and equipment available at Unleash Space, the University’s innovation hub and maker space, to make his own electric skateboard.
