Edmund Hillary Fellowship helping entrepreneurs climb to new heights

The Edmund Hillary Fellowship (EHF) consists of global and local investors, entrepreneurs and changemakers who want to create solutions to global problems from New Zealand and make a lasting positive impact on the world. Their Fellows are also supporting aspiring university entrepreneurs through advising and mentoring students participating in programmes run by the CIE.

Which Universities produce the most founders?

We recently spotted a post on Resume.io’s blog that used LinkedIn data to rank which US and UK universities have produced the most founders. That got us thinking about which universities in New Zealand and Australia stand out on this measure. In this article, entrepreneurship professor Rod McNaughton looks at the data.

Terrible Hackathon brings students’ worst ideas to life

They say there’s no such thing as a bad idea. A 48 hour Terrible Ideas Hackathon run by University of Auckland Science student Zac Miller-Waugh put that theory to the test. Held at Unleash Space, over 100 participants from across Auckland came together to bring 44 of their worst ideas to life.

Hackathon for people on bikes challenges students to reinvent the wheel

A bike-focused hackathon powered by Auckland Transport (AT) challenged seven teams of tertiary students and young professionals to re-imagine the biking experience in Auckland’s university precinct. Held at Unleash Space, the event was organised in collaboration with AUT and the University of Auckland’s Sustainability Office.
