About Solve It
Solve It is the innovation sprint that gets you to think, ideate and create solutions to tackle some of New Zealand’s toughest problems. Develop ideas to use technology to make the world a better place, with opportunities to gain friends, professional contacts and cash prizes! No prior experience with technology, innovation, entrepreneurship or business is required. What you’ll need to bring is a curious mind and a passion for creative problem solving.
Programme Content
Participants will form teams around their choice of one of a number of problems posed at the start of the programme. Challenges will be provided by a Solve It industry partners, who will provide a brief and insight into the challenge being experienced. Teams will then work together to form ideas for solutions to the problem posed, utilising emerging technology.

Timing and commitment
Solve It kicks off in the second week of the mid-semester break. Monday 2 – Friday 6 September. The high energy, full-time programme includes compulsory contact time consisting of workshops and mentoring as well as independent and teamwork.
The time commitment for this programme includes a full week-long programme, with some online reading beforehand. Solve It will be conducted on City campus.
Who is Solve It for?
Free and open to all current students and staff of the University of Auckland. From creatives to technologists, scientists to business students, everyone will benefit from attending this programme. Put your curiosity and creativity to practise.
No prior experience with technology, innovation, entrepreneurship or business is required, nor do you need an idea or existing team to participate. Just bring your energy and enthusiasm! Join as an individual or with your friends, and finish Solve It as part of a team.
Location
Solve It will take place at the University of Auckland City Campus at the innovation hub Kura Matahuna (Unleash Space).
