About the Programme:
Have an innovative idea but not sure where to start? Facing a challenge with your start-up?
Or simply need fresh suggestions to help your venture grow?
CIE’s Start-up Support programme is here for you. This flexible programme offers a comprehensive
support system for ventures at different stages. Based on a rolling enrolment basis, it is
designed to meet the needs of early-stage ventures by providing continuous access to critical
resources and a flexible timeline for growth.
This programme is open to current students, recent alumni, and staff at the University of Auckland.

Learning Outcomes:
- Develop core skills for building viable ventures.
- Build valuable professional networks and industry connections for your ventures and careers.
- Refine your initial idea into a viable venture plan or get support to pivot.
How It Works
Each team/member who joins the Start-up Support flexible incubator will decide what level of involvement
is right for them. This can be reassessed on a regular basis, e.g., every six months. This programme is
flexible and adaptable to accommodate varying levels of engagement and diverse growth trajectories.
The Start-up Support programme provides resources and community engagement across the following areas:
Low Involvement
- Start-up Studio
- Networking Events / Get-togethers
- One-Day Start-up Workshop
Moderate Involvement
- Professional Development, speaker sessions, Lunch-and-Learn sessions, Tech and Prototyping sessions (Start-up Studio members only)
- Start-Up Fireside Chats
High Involvement
- Mentorship and Expert Access (Start-up Studio members only)
- Progress Update Presentations (Start-up Studio members only)
- Progress Tracking (Coaching for Start-up Studio members interested in joining Venture Lab only)
How to Join:
If you’re currently actively working on a start-up and interested in growing your venture, book an
online office hour or drop into our physical office hours to chat with our programmes team. We’ll
help you find the best way to support your start-up.
